I recently gave a lecture as part of our new Lovable Shipped program and shared some of the prompt hacks I use to build better products with Lovable.
Here are some of my favorites:
1/ Start with intent, not features
Bad: “Build me a landing page.”
Good: “Create a cinematic landing page that introduces a premium wellness brand with storytelling sections and high-end visual design.”
2/ Use emotional keywords
Words like:
→ Tactile
→ Editorial
→ Confident
→ Joyful
They don’t just change the style, they change the feeling and vibe of your project enirerly.
3/ Give context, not instructions
Instead of: “Add a card with a button”
Say: “Add a pricing card that feels premium and reassuring. Highlight the most popular plan with a soft glow and ribbon.”
4/ Reference good design
Don’t reinvent the wheel.
Say things like:
→ “Style it like Apple’s pricing grid.”
→ “Use the same navbar layout as Notion.”
5/ Think systems before screens
Prompt your global styles first:
→ Typography
→ Colors
→ Layout logic
Then move on to screens.
Lovable learns from your system.
Pro tip:
Write prompts like you’re briefing your most talented design intern.
Precise. Thoughtful. But still giving room for creative interpretation.
